Fleck to serve as Arkadelphia Rotary guest speaker, July 11

The Arkadelphia Rotary Club will meet Friday, July 11, 2014, at Western Sizzlin, 106 WP Malone Drive, for its weekly meeting. Dr. Robyn Fleck has been invited to serve as guest speaker and will provide information regarding how modern farming practices are helping farmers make sure safe and healthy food gets to consumers’ dinner tables today and in the future. Rotarians and guests are invited to attend. For more information on the guest speaker, please read her brief biography below.

ROBYN FLECK is a doctor of veterinary medicine and an associate director of research for Zoetis Inc., headquartered in Florham Park, N.J. The company provides animal health products that include vaccines, medications, and antibiotics for all species of livestock and pets. Robyn joined Zoetis in 2011 and is based in Norman, Ark. She is responsible for field studies for swine health products. Prior to joining Zoetis, Robyn held positions with the National Pork Board as director of swine health programs; Schering-Plough Animal Health as a swine technical services manager; and as a staff veterinarian with Cargill Pork.

Robyn has served on the National Agriculture Food Animal Identification Task Force and the United States Animal Identification Plan Subcommittee for Implementation in the Swine Industry. She is a member of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians and has served on its Food Safety Committee. She has also served on the National Pork Board’s Swine Health and Food Safety committees.

Robyn graduated from Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, Penn., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry in 1988. She graduated from Tuffs University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Mass., with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1992. Robyn and her family live in Norman.
