Jones to serve as Arkadelphia Rotary guest speaker, Nov. 7

The Arkadelphia Rotary Club will meet Friday, November 7, 2014, at Western Sizzlin, 106 WP Malone Drive, for its weekly meeting. Mr. Jason Jones, a member of the Arkadelphia Rotary Club, has been invited to serve as guest speaker to provide an update on the Arkadelphia Promise. Rotarians and guests are invited to attend. JASON JONES serves as executive director of the Arkadelphia Promise, a program to increase the college-going rate for local students, reduce the number of students dropping out of college for financial reasons, and provide for a more educated workforce. Jones earned a B.S.E. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and an M.S.E. from Henderson State University. He has lived in Arkadelphia for 15 years and has spent his entire career in the field of education. The Arkadelphia Promise Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2010 and is funded by The Ross Foundation and Southern Bancorp. The Arkadelphia Promise is a 501(c)(3) and provides college scholarships to Arkadelphia High School students to help pay tuition and fees.
